Karen Chartier
About Me
Ms. Chartier was raised in Franklin, Massachusetts—home to the nation’s first public library—where her early appreciation for craftsmanship and history began to take shape. After earning her bachelor’s degree from Bryant University (then Bryant College), she built a successful career in finance, human resources, and legal services. Yet her enduring passion for fine gemstones and artistry ultimately called her back to a childhood dream: becoming a jeweler.
In 2001, she enrolled full-time at the esteemed North Bennet Street School in Boston’s historic North End, where she studied Jewelry Making and Repair, graduating in 2003. She went on to earn her Graduate Gemologist credentials from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in 2004, further deepening her expertise in diamonds and fine colored stones.
Today, Ms. Chartier designs and creates bespoke fine jewelry from her studio in Connecticut’s Quiet Corner. Her work reflects a commitment to exceptional craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and the timeless beauty of precious materials. She resides in northeastern Connecticut with her husband of 36 years and their beloved cats.
