Leah came to me with her grandmother’s diamond ring, a piece rich with history, but one that had suffered significant damage in an unfortunate garbage disposal accident (more common than you might think). The diamond had been reset in a six-prong mounting, leaving chips along the girdle and crown exposed and vulnerable to further wear.
To protect the stone, I recommended a bezel setting. Inspired by an engraved topaz bangle she admired in my collection, Leah envisioned something with similar movement and detail.
The result is a graceful swirl ring, adorned with hand engraving and delicate accent diamonds, an heirloom thoughtfully restored, protected, and ready to be cherished for its next chapter.

Sometimes sentimental stones are just that, sentimental. It doesn't mean that they can't be incorporated into a new design just because their monetary value is low. Here, we took an imitation green stone from a lost earring and created a new ring. Paula invisioned a rope twisted design with a double shank and a wavy middle. We used the diamonds from her earrings as accent stones. For the white gold ring, she envisioned a bypass shank and asked if I could incorporate the tops of the studs exactly as how they were set originally (absolutely I can). The result is a beautiful flowing ring.

Sometimes, a subtle transformation is all a piece needs to become something entirely new. Barbara came to me with her husband’s diamond ring, hoping to wear it as a meaningful tribute to his memory. She wished to preserve its original character, avoiding any drastic redesign or new setting. The ring, however, felt too masculine for her hand. Through careful, delicate reshaping of the top and band, I was able to soften its profile while honoring its original design. The result is a beautifully balanced, more feminine piece that carries both its history and her story forward.

Mall brought in her late husband’s cherished wedding band along with an opal collected during their travels, waiting years for the right jeweler to bring her vision to life. She envisioned a tall setting with a classic twisted rope detail. The result is a beautifully crafted gold ring, an enduring tribute that carries their story forward.

Sandy brought me her mother’s diamond engagement ring, a treasured heirloom that sadly had to be cut from her mother’s finger when she passed. Rather than letting the ring remain a painful reminder, Sandy wanted it lovingly restored so it could begin a new chapter in her family’s story. She also entrusted me with four small diamonds of her own, asking that they be incorporated into the design.
Today, the restored ring carries the spirit of both mother and grandmother. When Sandy’s son presents it to his fiancée, he will be giving more than a ring, he will be passing along a piece of family history, filled with love, memory, and legacy.

Connie brought in a sentimental men’s ring she longed to wear, but it didn’t feel quite right on her hand, and the original stone had become heavily worn. I reimagined the design with a more refined, feminine silhouette and added a raised bezel to transform its presence. A beautiful natural ruby now takes center stage, giving new life to a cherished piece.

Kelley came to me with a ring she no longer enjoyed wearing as it frequently caught on her clothing, and the design felt too simple for her taste. After discussing options, I suggested transforming the piece into a pair of earrings. The redesign gave new life to her gemstones, and the finished earrings were both elegant and practical.

Pam had a beautifully cut topaz ring that she rarely wore because of its bold scale. She asked if it could be transformed into a pendant while preserving the original setting. I reimagined the piece by adding a handcrafted side bail enhancer for added dimension and interest, along with a hinged bail at the top for versatility and ease of wear. Finished on a rich gold rope chain, the result is an elegant, wearable statement piece that honors the original design in a fresh new way.

Heidi had two wedding rings belonging to family members. She contacted me with ideas of creating a circle pendant using the two rings and incorporating the diamonds and hand engraving. The larger ring contained an engraved message from 1952 that she wanted preserved. The result is a beautiful circle pendant with an added large diamond in the center just because!

Tami brought me two heirloom gemstone rings that had been passed down to her. While they held sentimental value, the style didn’t feel like her. She asked if the stones and gold could be reimagined into pieces that better reflected her personal aesthetic and her faith.
Together, we transformed the gemstones onto a custom hand made sterling silver cross, thoughtfully designed to incorporate each stone from the original rings. The yellow gold ring was melted down and used for accents on the cross and also crafted into a new pair of earrings, giving fresh life to the cherished metal. And, just because every redesign deserves a little joy, an additional hammered band was crafted and accented with rubies and diamonds "just because".

Rose came to me with her treasured diamond engagement ring and wedding band, both gifts from her beloved husband. She envisioned transforming these meaningful pieces into a double heart pendant, preserving the original diamond exactly as it was set. The result is a timeless heirloom pendant, lovingly reimagined, that keeps his memory close and beautifully honors the story they shared.

Sherill had a sentimental gold ring that met it's untimely fate in a garbage disposal! Hoping it could be fixed, she brought it to my shop where after careful annealing, stretching, and finishing, the ring is fit to be worn again!

Anna had a generic wedding set she no longer wore and desired a bold chunky new ring created for her beautiful diamonds. After a quick review of the rendering of the design she wanted, I got to work creating the ring by hand. A wide half round yellow gold band was created, and an asymmetrical white gold “wave” band was created to hug the inner band. Twenty-two diamonds were bead-set into the wave ending with some room to spare at the back. The two tone setting really shows off these beautiful diamonds!

Lisa had a class ring that had belonged to her father. It was severely worn with the surrounding stone almost demolished. She had taken it to several jewelers who said that nothing could be done. After discussing options (which were few), I had an idea to use sturdy black resin in place of the stone. After a thorough cleaning and removing of all the old pieces of stone, black resin was added and cured to a hard finish. A high polish and the ring looks new!

Henry purchased a vintage ring for Hannah at the Antiques Marketplace. Hannah loved the ring but wasn’t thrilled about the white diamond in the center and preferred a blue stone. The Antiques Marketplace recommended they visit my shop to discuss options. Hannah fell in love with the blue diamonds I showed her. She picked out a “dusky blue” color and Henry surprised her by having me add little diamonds in each of the hearts that adorn the band. New prongs and a high polish and the ring looks new!

Tina had a lot of jewelry from family members that had passed on. We had a lot to work with and Tina, being an artist, wanted a very “artsy” and asymmetrical looking ring that used all of the stones. She didn’t like prong set and wanted to have the larger stones set in bezels. She decided on this beautiful asymmetrical design with a combination of bezel set and flush set stones.

Audrey had several heirloom rings that she never wore because they really weren’t her style. The only one she was really attached to, was a white gold band that had an engraved message and dates on the inside that was handed down to her from family. After discussion and review of several designs, she decided on three rings, with two of them fitting into one another as a set. The other, a sapphire band that matches but can be worn alone. A pendant was crafted representing the sun, with a beautiful yellow/orange citrine in the center, and was soldered inside the band, preserving the engraving in its entirety.

Lori had a beautiful gold and pearl stick pin with a gorgeous old cut diamond in the center. She also had a very pretty white gold and diamond ring. She thought the diamond would look great in the ring and also was looking for a two-tone ring to wear. After assessing the size, fit and weight of the ring, I determined that the diamond inside the gold bezel would fit into the ring. The result was perfect and an old heirloom can be worn every day!

Janet was unhappy with her current style of engagement ring. Over the years, her busy lifestyle often meant that she was wearing down the prongs on the diamond setting and lost her diamond twice! After listening to her story, I realized that she needed her diamond bezel set. After removing the old setting and replacing it with a new gold bezel, I set her diamond and cleaned up the channels on each side.

Sometimes, my clients know exactly what they want and even have drawings! An old vintage ring was brought to me with visions of creating a special chevron ring. The left over diamonds were made into an initial pendant.

Pauline had a sapphire ring that wasn’t really her style and didn’t fit into her active life. She also preferred yellow gold! A new ring was crafted, and the sapphire was set into a bezel with the smaller sapphires flush set into the band.

Lisa had a gold ring that she was given as a child. The stone, a natural Alexandrite, had long ago been lost. She was searching for a suitable center stone and a way to be able to wear the ring again without fear of losing the stone. I explained that the reason she lost the stone is that there wasn’t really anything holding it in. The beautiful gold flower really had no prongs or any way that would securely hold the stone. I added a 4-prong gold setting and sourced a lab grown alexandrite stone per Lisa’s requirements. Now, a childhood heirloom can be worn again!

Madeline had a cluster ring that was pretty but wasn’t her style. She desired something daintier but wanted to keep the cluster theme. A flower design was decided upon with diamonds set in a channel on the side.
